A Smart TV is not necessarily Android
Samsung and LG commonly use their own television platforms. An Android APK is not a universal television installer. Check the model year, operating system and available applications in your television’s store.
Keep app fees separate
A player may have its own licence or trial period. That payment does not necessarily include a television subscription. Before paying twice, ask which part of the setup each charge covers and whether your chosen player accepts the supplied account format.
Test the remote-control experience
Open live television, find a programme in the guide and return to the channel list. Check subtitles, sound and favourites. If the app is slow or no compatible app is available, ask whether an existing supported streaming device would be a better choice before buying new hardware.
